Drawing an artist is always a joy, because there is an understanding of audience that many models do not instinctively possess. Further, an artist who works figuratively is even more attuned, not only to the mechanics of the activity, but to the metaphysical communication that is being attempted. Such a session was this, and I was privileged to draw this man. Not all my sketches that day were so abstract, but my tendency in the recent past has been to create my drawings from the visual impulses that arise.
The work was drawn on Strathmore Toned Mixed Media vellum.
