AURA performs music by the highly imaginative and inventive London-based composer Stephen Montague, who is in residence at UH during the month of November. Montague seeks to compose music that engages his audience, seducing them with something they know, then taking them somewhere they may never have been. This program of highly engaging chamber works demonstrates his wide musical range from the simple vernacular through high classical to the avant-garde.

Join Pluto as we bring the holiday cheer to Archway Gallery with our arrangements of Christmas favorites!
Pluto Soundz is non-traditional string quartet who writes and performs their own music. This ensemble was co-founded by our writers and musicians, Bonnie Diggs and Bill Tackett.
Pluto’s specialty is trying new styles and sharing the stories inspiring their ideas. With original music that spans from Rock and Roll, Celtic, Jazz, and more, they take time to share the stories behind their songs in each performance. They believe that music is a strong component for bringing communities together.

Join us for a special night with the principal harpist of the Dallas Symphony, Emily Levin, with a concert program titled "Experiments in Play". The program incorporates magical stories, puzzles, and even a 'choose your own adventure' component. She describes it as "an immersive, interactive performance that weaves together storytelling and music. Audience members can choose to observe or interact with the narrative, solve puzzles, and even influence the path of the music itself."

Joan Raeburn Holland is Resident Instructor of Harp for the Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Arts Camp, and Associate Professor of Harp for the School of Music, Theatre and Dance of the University of Michigan. In addition to her strong commitment to teaching, she maintains an active career in solo, chamber, concerto performances and orchestral performing. She is currently principal harpist for the Midland (MI) Symphony Orchestra, co-principal of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra and is substitute harpist for other Michigan orchestras. This performance at Archway Gallery will kick off the second annual weeklong harp workshop, Harpisphere, spearheaded by Emily Klein at Houston Hillel.
