Shards III by Tracey Meyer
7 x 5 x 4
These works are very delicate, but in a delightful way. The 'shards' were made by soaking corrugated paper in ceramic slip and then the soggy paper was re-shaped into the box forms that they were. The box sculptures were then fired, but did not survive, only the corrugatedpieces. I then created these sculptures by pressing the various shards into a clay base. The sculpture was then fired. They have been glazed with a gloss finish. Due to their delicate nature, they are available for pick-up at the gallery or will be personally delivered by the artist within the Greater Houston Area. If you pick it up at the gallery, bring a shoe box with you .... These pieces should only be handled by the base.
