Joan Laughlin
Joan Laughlin has lived in Houston most of her life. Her work is inspired by the natural world that grows in and around the concrete, urban, ever-changing Houston landscape. She has an MFA from Otis College of Art and Design and a BA in Art History from TCU. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at Galveston Arts Center, Jung Center of Houston, and Sawyer Yards as well as numerous group exhibitions in the Houston area. In 2012, 2013 and 2015, she was a Hunting Prize Finalist. She has also taught many, many art and art history classes at community colleges in the Houston area.
