This beginner-friendly course introduces participants to the exciting field of Text-to-Image AI, where art meets technology. Perfect for artists, designers, tech enthusiasts, or anyone curious about the intersection of AI and creativity. No prior experience in AI or digital art is necessary. |
Workshop Objectives:
1. Introduction to Text-to-Image AI: Understanding the basics of how AI can generate images from text descriptions.
2. AI Tools and Platforms: Familiarization with various Text-to-Image AI platforms and tools. Downloading and installing Apps.
3. Creative Experimentation: Participants will create their own AI generated images based on textual descriptions.
4. Techniques and Best Practices: Learning how to refine prompts and use AI tools effectively for better image outcomes.
5. Ethical Considerations and Usage: Discussing the ethical aspects of AI-generated art and understanding copyright considerations.
6. Applications and Real-World Uses: Exploring how Text-to-Image AI is transforming industries like graphic design, marketing, and entertainment.
7. Interactive Q&A and Showcase: A session for answering questions and showcasing participant creations.

Logistical Details: Space is limited! Maximum of 12 students - Ensuring a focused, hands-on experience with ample opportunity for individual guidance. Tuition Fee: $60 (Free versions of the AI apps will be discussed, but AI tools requiring subscription fees will be the students’ responsibility.) Your Instructors:
Virginia and André Bally have collaboratively led workshops in face casting (Life Cast), Glass Casting, Mask Making, Drawing Theory & Pencil Sketching, and Sandblasting Ceramics. Virginia has also led classes in Floral Design, Bonsai, and Color Theory for Ceramic Underglazes. André has taught Computer Aided Drafting and Design, as an adjunct instructor, for the University of Houston, Houston Community College, and Harris County Community College. He has also taught Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) for the Lone Star Community College System and is currently an independent contractor teaching Mixed Media Sculpture Classes at the University of Texas, San Antonio (UTSA) Southwest Campus. Virginia and Andre are both former member artists of Archway Gallery.
