I created my two pieces, Black & White Standing Together and White & Black Standing Together thinking about the philosophy of Ying and Yang, a Chinese concept of dualism which describes how ‘seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and how they can give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.’ Black and White, or White and Black, bound together as parts of a mutual whole make a much greater whole!
