Metropolis - by Larry Garmezy
This image is part of a series I refer to as "Houston - Real and Imagined". It reminds me of the 1927 film "Metropolis" and thus the name. The starting point for this photo was an image of a bowl of fruit that I submerged in my pool for my previous exhibition "Stuck" in 2022. It was taken through a hand-blown pane of glass manufactured in the same fashion as those made in the 16th and 17th century in Europe. This continues my fascination with distortion and attempt to "rediscover cubism".
