Painted after a trip to Marfa, Texas in July, the intensity of the heat and the marvelous desert landscape inspired this piece.
There are subtle plant formations along the lower part of the canvas, which I took from sketchbook drawings I created when I was there.
There are beautiful pale gold clouds in the sky, and other areas of the same color, which are very difficult to capture on camera.
