The series I Am Not a Robot is based on the ubiquitous – and annoying – checkbox seen on almost all websites. But for me, this serves as a reminder of the illusion of free will (note that the box in these works is NOT checked). This one, with its portrait of Napoleon, is inspired by Tolstoy’s digression on determinism in his novel War and Peace: “The king is a slave to history.”
