Dark Mirror - by donna e perkins
36 x 24”, acrylic on cradled board
While this painting may appear to be black from a distance, itssurface has been textured by my hands. Numerous layers of paint of various viscosities
This painting was constructed by applying layers of acrylic paint, of varying viscosities over a base coat of metallic paint. Its surface has been textured by my hands and as much of this paint is metallic, light plays with the metallic sheen and across the physical depths of the surface. The surface is so shiny, it’s impossible to get a good photo of this painting, hence the title, Dark Mirror.
