Having always created things, mostly for my family, it was time that I began creating things for myself, things that brought me joy. After I retired from Rice University almost 3 years ago, I started on my clay and glaze journey. Ceramics is such a wonderful practice, it allows me to tap into the creative side as well as using my analytical skills to problem solve. As any potter will tell, so much can happen during the process that alters the expected outcomes. Sometimes that’s a wonderful surprise, and sometimes it turns into another lessen how to rethink the original plan. Ceramics is a gift, of learning, of growing, of creating. I am very excited to join the group of artists at Archway, and to tap into their energy and creativity!
