Harris has been drawing and painting objects and ideas since childhood. She finds many patterns and statements in the world - social, physical, and man-made - which are reflected in her long-term concurrent art and drafting careers. Harris believes that art reflects significance and truth in closer scrutiny of appearance. Her paintings are expressions of that reality.
