V. Chin

Vorakit Chinookoswong, known widely as V. Chin, has been crafting fine porcelain and stoneware pieces for over 30 years. A veteran of art festivals and gallery shows throughout Texas, Chin creates glossy stoneware vases, bowls, cups, and other pieces bearing his signature clay frog.

Striving for a balance between aesthetics and function, Chin's goal is to simply create "good" ceramics. His subtle glazing adds an extraordinary level of elegance to his pottery.

Born in Thailand, Chin moved to Japan at an early age, where he graduated from the Kyoto Institute of Technology. He trained as an apprentice with several prominent Japanese ceramic artists before migrating to the United States in 1980.

Chin now works and resides in Seabrook, Texas.

Chin creates unique pottery made from porcelain. His artistic
objective is to simply create 'good' ceramics. Striving for elegance
of form with a balance between aesthetics and function, his subtle
glazing adds an extraordinary level of elegance to his work.
